About Playtime

Playtime Video Games are a small family owned independent video games retailer based in South Yorkshire. We have shops in Doncaster, Sheffield and Nottingham and also sell online at www.playtime.co.uk and on eBay.

This blog is written by me, Gareth Rowbotham. Along with my brother, Matthew, who opened the first shop in Doncaster 10 years ago, we sell video games to gamers like us. The first shop was called Playtime because that’s what we do – “Play games in our spare Time“.

It is more general than games though. When I am not working, my play time is devoted to lots of things. Games of course, mainly console but some Mac games too. But also more active pastimes including cycling, running, swimming (sometimes altogether) and football. And less active ones like watching F1, playing with all things Apple (Mac’s, iPhones & soon iPad’s), cooking, eating and drinking.

And this blog is my brain dump of all those things. Not in any sort of order.

  1. Hi, we have a credit note from the store in Leeds for £135. Will this credit note be honored by you? Could you get back to me with any details? Thanks.

  2. Hi, I am located in Doncaster and i currently run a Playstation 3 repair service for those that have suffered the Yellow light of detah (YLOD). I have seen that you do not offer such a service and was therefore wondering if i could offer my services to the public through your Doncaster branch. Of course i am willing to arrange some sort of share in the profits with yourselves for doing this. If you are interested please get back to me and i can give you more details. Thanks.
